Montessori for Dementia (online workshop)
The Montessori approach reaches far beyond childhood. In this live online workshop, hosted by Montessori Institute Prague, Carolyn Magnussen shows how Montessori principles can bring more independence, purpose and joy to people living with dementia, and ease everyday life for those who care for them.
You will learn how to:
Build on the abilities and interests a person still has
Prepare surroundings that support independence and reduce frustration
Turn daily routines into meaningful, successful activities
Communicate in ways that invite participation
Make and use simple materials such as memory books and supportive signage
Who is it for? Family caregivers, nurses, occupational therapists, activity coordinators, care home leaders, Montessori guides and anyone with an interest in dementia care. No Montessori background is needed.
About the speaker: Carolyn Magnussen is an AMI trainer in Montessori for dementia, disability and ageing, and co-founder of Montessori Care. She has more than 30 years of experience in Montessori education and over a decade in dementia care.
Practical details: The workshop lasts about 2.5 hours, including a short break and a live Q&A. A recording is available for 30 days afterwards, so you can also register and watch later.

Workshoppen er allerede om en uge, så opslaget bør komme op snart. Jeg har skrevet tydeligt, at det er Montessori Institute Prague, der er arrangør, så det ikke ligner foreningens eget event.
